In order to further strengthen the construction of excellent academic atmosphere during the epidemic period, strengthen professional ideological education of students, broaden professional vision, and cultivate professional feelings, the College of Agricultural Science and Engineering recently held online academic lectures on soil and water conservation. This lecture invited Director Yang Yihui from the Rural Water Conservancy and Soil and Water Conservation Department of Jiangsu Provincial Water Resources Department. Participants of the lecture were Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zheng Run, Professor Chen Dan, assistant to the dean for the college of the Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, some young teachers, 18 and 19 grade counselors Li Jian, Xue Jing, and all the students of 18 and 19 grades.The lecture was presided over by Professor Zhu Chengli, deputy dean of the college of Agricultural Science and Engineering.
Dean Zhu first extended a warm welcome to Director Yang Yihui for attending the lecture, and warmly introduced Director Yang Yihui to the students. Soil and water conservation is an important development direction of agricultural water conservancy engineering. Director Yang was invited to give a lecture this time to allow students to further understand the professional connotation and work prospects of soil and water conservation from the perspective of industry practitioners, and to divert majors at the end of the second semester of the sophomore be prepared.
Director Yang Yihui started with different definitions of soil and water conservation at home and abroad. By enumerating the various complex causes of soil erosion, he led to the legal basis for the formulation of soil and water conservation plans, and systematically and detailed the basic concepts of soil and water conservation. He started from five aspects: hydraulic erosion, wind erosion, gravity erosion, freeze-thaw erosion, and man-made erosion. The basic concepts and characteristics of soil erosion are explained through a large number of pictures, analysis of erosion principles, and a summary of typical areas where erosion occurs.
Director Yang Yihui combined with the situation of soil erosion throughout the country and Jiangsu Province, and through multiple sets of real data, let the students further realize the urgency of soil and water conservation. Director Yang gave a detailed lecture on the allowable soil loss and soil erosion intensity classification standards for water erosion in different regions, drew out the harm caused by soil erosion, and emphasized the importance and broad prospects of soil and water conservation.He defined water and soil conservation from the legal and academic levels, expounded the four major tasks of water and soil conservation, including prevention and supervision, comprehensive management, monitoring and forecasting, and ecological restoration, and introduced my country's soil and water conservation zoning.
Then Director Yang introduced the relevant laws and regulations of my country's soil and water conservation to the students. Starting from the historical evolution of the Law of Soil and Water Conservation, he interspersedly explained the development process of my country's soil and water conservation.He emphatically introduced the main features and contents of the new Soil and Water Conservation Law revised in 2010, contacted the Regulations on Soil and Water Conservation of Jiangsu Province to explain the changes in various aspects of the new laws and regulations, and discussed the water and soil conservation plan and the water and soil conservation plan system.
Finally, Director Yang Yihui analyzed the situation of the soil and water conservation industry based on his own experience. He pointed out that the country has repeatedly emphasized the importance of ecological and environmental protection. The work of soil and water conservation is facing new situations and new opportunities.
