Introduction to AGRI-Environmental Research Institute

The Institute of Agricultural Environment is the main body of teaching and scientific research of agricultural biological environment and energy engineering and soil science, and an important supporting research institution of the first-level discipline of agricultural engineering in Jiangsu Province. The institute has 16 full-time teaching and research personnel, including 2 professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, 8 associate professors, 6 lecturers, and 6 part-time professors. There are doctoral and master degree programs of agricultural biological environment and energy engineering, and master degree programs of soil science. There has teaching, research and practice platforms such as soil and water environment laboratory, water ecology laboratory, agricultural waste and biomass utilization laboratory, etc.

Focusing on the major national needs, the institute has carried out long-term research on the mechanism and prevention measures of agricultural soil and water environmental pollution, the mechanism of rural water ecosystem and ecological restoration technology, the resource utilization of agricultural wastes, the improvement of saline-alkali land and soil and water conservation.In the past five years, the Institute has undertaken more than 120 scientific research projects, including national key research and development projects, national key science and technology projects, national Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and municipal science and technology projects, etc., and has trained 10 doctoral students and more than 30 master students. The Institute has won 4 provincial and ministerial awards, published more than 100 academic papers and 5 monographs.
